Paintings
From late 18th-century portraits to contemporary abstraction, the museum’s American paintings represent such varied artists as Thomas Sully, Lilly Martin Spencer, Winslow Homer, Frederic Remington, Henry Ossawa Tanner, Georgia O’Keeffe, Mark Rothko, Alice Neal, Sean Scully, and Dartmouth artists-in-residence from the 1930s to today.
