Studied together, the Hood Museum's recent acquisitions provide a clear view of the Museum's values. Bold, international, often indigenous, relevant to curriculum, and historically significant, the works we collect now reflect our engagement with contemporary art and culture as well as our reexaminations of past art. Whether purchasing outright or encouraging donations, College faculty and staff work with Hood Museum curators to carefully build the collection so that it meets the ever expanding needs of the deeply interdisciplinary, liberal-arts-focused, intellectual community at Dartmouth.
