Driving Directions to Campus
From the Boston area (about 2.5 hours)
Take I-93 north to I-89 north at Concord, NH. Get off I-89 at exit 18 in Lebanon, NH, onto Rt. 120. Bear right off the exit, heading north into Hanover. After 4.1 miles, Rt. 120 forks at a traffic light. Bear right at the fork, following Rt. 120 one-half mile on South Park Street to the second traffic light. Turn left at the light, onto East Wheelock Street. After two-tenths of a mile, you will come to the Dartmouth Green (right) and the Hanover Inn (left).
From Burlington, VT (about 1.5 hours)
Take I-89 south to I-91 north in White River Junction, VT. See following directions.
From New York (about 5 hours), southern New England, and points south
Take I-91 north to exit 13 at Norwich, VT. Bear right off the exit and cross the bridge. Continue up the hill (West Wheelock Street) to the traffic light in the center of town. The Dartmouth Green is ahead on the left and the museum, which reopens January 26, is ahead on the right, past the Hopkins Center for the Performing Arts.
Bus (Advance Transit)
In the Upper Valley, ride the Advance Transit Brown, Green, or Orange Route to the Hanover Inn stop.
Metered public parking is available in front of the museum on Wheelock Street and behind the museum on Lebanon Street. An all-day public parking garage is located at 7 Lebanon Street.
Parking for school buses is located in the A Lot on East Wheelock Street. After dropping off passengers near the museum entrance that faces the Green, continue driving east on Wheelock Street. Cross North Park Street (go straight through the traffic light). Drive just under .3 mile. The A Lot will be on your left, marked by a small black-and-white sign. The bus may wait in the A Lot until it is time to pick up the students. The driver should stay with the bus.
