About

Richel joined the staff in April 2021 as the Cultural Heritage Technical Developer to the Advancing Pathways for Long-Term Collaboration grant, a project connecting the Dartmouth Library and the Hood Museum to advance significant cross-institutional and community-centered collaboration grounded in Dartmouth's Native American and Indigenous Arctic collections. Richel is a Dartmouth alumna who worked in the Hood's education department during her senior year. That experience propelled her to spend over a decade in New York City working in education, event programming, and fundraising in museums and cultural institutions such as the Brooklyn Museum, the Rubin Museum, and Brooklyn Academy of Music. As part of the Digital Platforms, Media, & Archives team, Richel builds interactives and digital kiosks to help contextualize and extend learning for the Hood's collections and exhibitions using platforms like Exhibit.so, StoryMaps, and WordPress. Richel also researches, tests, and advises on software for implementation, and helps plan future technology adoption at the museum.
