About

Emily Andrews has worked as the NAGPRA and Osteology Research Assistant since 2023. In this position, she uses archival and scholarly materials to research the origin of human remains and other sensitive materials held at Dartmouth. Working closely with the Associate Director for Curatorial Affairs and Curator of Indigenous Art as well as the Program Manager for Osteological Repatriation and Review, Emily's research informs the repatriation process alongside other institutional and tribal partners. Originally from Oklahoma, Emily first joined the Hood Museum in September of 2021 as that year's Homma Family Intern. After graduating from Dartmouth in 2022, she was brought on full-time as the NAGPRA Research Assistant to continue her work with the museum.
