Daisy Viertel Shapiro (1890-1984), New York; given to present collection, 1967, in memory of her son, First Lieutenant Richard David Shapiro (1921-1944), Class of 1943, who died on December 20, 1944 (his 23rd birthday) in the Battle of Leyte, Philippines.
