T. C. Cannon’s woodcut (based on his painting of the same subject) portrays a modern, but ancient, Kiowa dandy who reimagines himself on his own terms, in his own complex homeplace and at ease in the world—even as a collector of iconic European art like Vincent van Gogh’s Wheatfields.
