The Hood Museum of Art continues to be grateful to alumni, parents, and friends for their generous support via gifts of artwork, financial contributions toward the Hood Museum expansion and programs, as well as the creation of specific named funds that benefit internships, acquisitions, and other purposes integral to the Hood's mission as a teaching museum. Notably, the museum's board of advisors has generously funded the museum's DEAI Cohort, a group of three new staff positions designed to enhance access to the museum for emerging professionals, beginning in FY2021. Fundraising continues for the Hood Museum's new building, with several donors making their final pledged payments toward the expansion over the past year. We thank all contributors for their immense generosity in supporting the museum's building project, and for the many opportunities made possible by our generous Friends and supporters.
The Director's Circle, a group of supporters and art enthusiasts who commit to an annual contribution of over $2,500, enjoyed a fulfilling and successful year. In lieu of an annual trip, virtual programming with the Hood Museum's director brought this group together for virtual talks and studio visits on impressionist and abstract painting. The continued support of both the Director's Circle and the Friends group help the museum further the appreciation of art at Dartmouth.
