Label on reverse: Cephas Thomas (Itinerant Painter of Middleboro, Mass. / Portrait of Captain Nathan Alden (21 x 25") / (6th in line from John & priscilla Alden). / Purchased about 1912 from the Alden Family who lived on the Shores of the Chautaugua New York where the Aldens formerly has migrated from Middleboro Mass.
