Sonia, Sonia, Sonia—? On the left, we see Sonia smile as she holds a photocopied paper with her image printed on it. Inside the paper’s frame, another Sonia too holds a photocopied frame, and this is repeated one final time with the last Sonia is presented in profile. She looks at the horizon, still smiling and perhaps even suggesting that these iterations continue beyond the image’s borders. The frames within frames here function as windows through time, opened by Sheridan—a powerful self-portrait indeed.
