Weekly Ritual reimagines popular American narratives of domesticity. In this chromogenic print, Park depicts himself and their wife administering their weekly hormone shots. Consistently enduring fetishization and disposability, trans people are rarely represented in domestic spaces or participating in acts of caretaking and homemaking. Coyote’s portrait immortalizes a tender and private practice in his marriage, illuminating the deep-rooted compassion and support that the lovers have for each other and their respective self-realization. In a romance that is deeply devoted to decolonial intimacy, Coyote demonstrates that love is innately ceremonial.
