Visiting with a Class 

We hope to see you in the Hood Museum's Bernstein Center for Object Study (BCOS) during your Dartmouth career! Here are some helpful tips when visiting with a class: 

• Food and art should stay apart. Food, drinks, gum, and mints are not allowed inside BCOS or the museum's galleries. 
• Store your stuff. Use the cubbies immediately inside of BCOS to place backpacks, coats, water bottles, lunchboxes, etc. (It is a secure space, and your belongings will be safe.) 
• Pencils only please. Pens are not allowed in BCOS or the galleries. If you don't have one with you –– we have plenty! Currently, we're offering "mood pencils." 
• Take the survey. We want to hear from you! At the end of your class, a museum staff member will provide you with a survey to fill out. Your feedback will help us to be the resource you need.
   

Visiting the Galleries 

The Hood Museum of Art is your museum –– visit often! When planning your visit, consider your options: 

• FREE admission. Entry is free for everyone, which makes it easy to bring friends and family with you. 
• Come and go as you please! Free admission also provides you with the flexibility to explore the galleries for five minutes or two hours.
• Sketch. Bring your pencils and paper to the museum and sketch what's on view.
• Is there an event? Check out our online calendar of events to see what's happening. 
• Personal art viewings. As a Dartmouth student, you can request a personal viewing of a work of art in the collection. 
• Book a tour. Any student or student organization can schedule a private tour. 
• Grab swag. As the visitor services guides for stickers featuring our public art collection (designed by Dartmouth alum Regina Yang), card cases for your phone, and Hood Musuem pencils.
