Katherine Hart, Associate Director and Barbara C. and Harvey P. Hood 1918 Curator of Academic Programming

Barbara MacAdam, the Jonathan L. Cohen Curator of American Art, has been at the museum since it opened in 1985. In her capacity as curator, she has been the most influential person in shaping the museum's fine collection of American art through acquisition and stewardship of donors. She has earned great respect for her keen intelligence, unerring eye for quality, painstaking and thorough research of the works in her care, talented writing and teaching, and deep sense of ethics and professionalism. She is one of the Hood's most valuable assets and plays a crucial role in its continuing reputation for excellence.
