Lasser has been talking about popular music as social history for thirty years, focusing on the explosive growth of cities, the rise of Bohemianism, and the arrival of millions of immigrants as key aspects of American life at the turn of the twentieth century. Lasser is host of National Public Radio.s .Fascinatin. Rhythm,. a Peabody Award.winning weekly program that focuses on the great American popular songs.
