Katherine W. Hart has been at the Hood Museum of Art since 1990 and served as interim director of the museum from 2004 to 2005 and 2010 to 2011, and as associate director from 2005 to 2013. Kathy serves as head of the museum’s curatorial and collection management departments, works on contemporary art projects and acquisitions, and is the museum’s primary liaison to faculty. She has coordinated major traveling exhibitions organized by the Hood, including Coming of Age in Ancient Greece: Images of Childhood from the Classical Past (2003). She has also served as the curator or coordinator of more than sixty small teaching exhibitions in the museum’s Harrington Gallery. She holds a B.A. in art history from Williams College, an M.A. from Columbia University, and has completed her coursework toward the Ph.D. in art history at the City University of New York.
