Purchased at auction February 7-8, 1928 (according to mat inscription); sold to Hersey Egginton (1875-1951); bequeathed to his wife, Mary E. (Benner) Egginton (1875-1962), Garden City, New York; given to present collection, in 1954, in memory of her son, Everett De Witt Egginton (1900-1925), Class of 1921.
