Wooden keys and Metal Rods
Unknown Maker
about 1920
Wooden board with 8 wooden keys with brass screws in middle of key attaching it loosely to board. Keys press down with spring action. At back of key, 8 rods run vertically, then bent horizontal (parallel) to board. From back of each key a nail projects which is attached to spring (other end of spring stapled to board). When key pressed, spring expands. At end of the metal rods are flat plates. May have had mirrors.
