Katharine Staelin

Digital Media Specialist

Katharine Staelin is responsible for the digital asset and collection management systems and the online collection.  Her engagement with the digital museum, visual communication, and digital scholarship is long-standing.  Prior to joining the Hood Museum of Art in December 2014, she created visualizations of microdata for the Mattapoisett Historical Society, and as Creative Director for Digital Projects, Curatorial Affairs, she was responsible for exhibition and collection digital experiences, collaboratively developing the online collection and over 30 online and gallery features, media components and apps for The Jewish Museum, New York.  She developed a diagram based gallery guide for the Addison Gallery of American Art, coordinated the development of the Mellon-funded website Romanesque Architecture of the Bourbonnais, and earned an M.A. in Medieval Art and the Digital Presentation of Art History from Columbia University.   As an artist she exhibits her artwork internationally.
