In September the Hood Museum Board members and members of the Hood Honorary Council convened to honor forty years of museum achievement. During the meeting we welcomed four new members—John Hueston, Esq. '86 P'14, Judith Liff Barker, Susan Noonan, and Nicole Sayfie Porcelli '93.
At the end of October, the Hood Museum's Director's Circle members traveled to the Hamptons for a curated itinerary through a handful of the region's most distinctive spaces. At Universal Limited Art Editions (ULAE), hosted by Josh Wesoky '93 and Larissa Goldston, we visited Skidmore House and its studio to learn about the history and process of lithographic printing; the Parrish Art Museum welcomed our group for a curated tour of Nina Yankowitz and James Howell's exhibitions; and the Watermill Center transported us all back to childhood with their Upside-Down Zebra exhibition. A studio visit to Eric Firestone Gallery showcased contemporary artists such as Sana Musasama, and finally, a private tour through the historic Pollock-Krasner House led by a Pollock family member transported us back to the late 1940s as we stood on the incredible floor of their studio.
In December, Dartmouth's Centennial Circle members gathered at Art Basel Miami to explore the fair's preview days along with Hood Museum director John Stomberg, stopping in galleries to view a range of contemporary art. While in Miami, the Southern Florida Alumni Club, organized by Gina Lam '92, toured the fair with Jami Powell, Associate Director of Curatorial Affairs and Curator of Indigenous Art.
Together, these art-focused moments underscore a museum that celebrates its history, enriches its community, and remains committed to supporting the arts at Dartmouth.
