Hood Museum Logo
The facade of the Hood Museum of Art at dusk. The building is made of gray bricks and the facade has a large vitrine window on the second floor displaying a black and white work carved into aluminum. The work gives the illusion of moving fabric.
What's in the front window? Commissioned to complement the fall exhibition "Madayin," this work was created by Yolnu artist Gunybi Ganambarr. Read more on page 7 in the summer "Quarterly" magazine. (Photo by Rob Strong.)

Blog Post: "Modern Medicine for a Medieval Reliquary"

When art and science meet, fascinating discoveries are made! Recently, museum staff worked with medical staff at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center to investigate a newly acquired reliquary and (hopefully) solve a few mysteries. Click here to read more!
College-age students explore a museum exhibition of contemporary art that focuses on the idea of lines. There is a metal sculpture slightly out of focus in the foreground and behind the students is a large abstract painting.

Blog Post: "The Return of Hood After 5"

Hood After 5 is a program created for students, by students. It was suspended due to Covid. In this blog post, Levinson Intern for Campus Engagement Alice Crow '22 chronicles the return of Hood After 5 this academic year. Click to read more.
