On upcoming Monday evenings from 3:30-5:00. Dates are: April 10, April 17, April 24, May 1, and May 8. (The last two sessions will run from 3:30-5:30 p.m.). There will also be a trip to New York City Saturday and Sunday, May 6-7.

A time to dream, a time to plan.

It started with a dream: build a museum with state-of-the-art classrooms, new galleries, and a great façade right on the Dartmouth Green. We dared to imagine spaces activated by students, faculty, and community members engaging with art on a daily basis.

During the interval of our construction and reinstallation, Hood Downtown will present an ambitious series of exhibitions featuring contemporary artists from around the world. Like the Hood Museum of Art, Hood Downtown is free and open to the public.

The Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth has acquired the complete archive of award-winning photojournalist and war photographer James Nachtwey ’70, who has spent more than 35 years documenting conditions in some of the world’s most dangerous conflict zones.
