Lesley Wellman

Hood Foundation Curator of Education

Lesley H. Wellman has been Curator of Education at the Hood Museum of Art since 1990. She oversees the museum’s interpretive programs and resources for community audiences and regional schools, as well as working with Dartmouth students and faculty and overseeing the museum’s senior internship program. She holds an M.A. from Williams College and a B.A. from Brown University. She was elected by colleagues across the country to the position of director of the Museum Division of the National Art Education Association (NAEA), one the most visible positions in the realm of art museum education. She served on the Board of NAEA from 2009 to 2011, and in that position was the spokesperson for the division nationally. In 2012, she was named the National Art Museum Educator of the Year by the National Art Education Association. Lesley presents regularly at national conferences.
