This exhibition presents a selection of ceramics, textiles, and other objects from ancient cultures that flourished in the region that is now Peru. Since these cultures—including the Nasca, Moche, and Inca—left no written records, the objects are interpreted through comparative analysis of various motifs, such as animals and mythical figures. The themes explored include death, ancestor worship, and environmental influences.
