One of this country’s most celebrated African-American artists, Jacob Lawrence has worked in a variety of mediums throughout his career. His remarkable skill as a draftsman is especially evident in the illustrations he produced for several books, including Aesop’s Fables. This exhibition presents the 23 bold and expressive pen-and-ink drawings that Lawrence produced in 1969 for a new edition of these timeless tales.
