Distinguished by their extraordinary forms and unique designs, West African body ornaments of brass served as more than simply decorative jewelry. They bestowed social and religious identities upon their wearers, while the glamour of their glowing brass provided irresistible visual appeal. This exhibition presents a selection of approximately 120 works from the major West African centers of brass casting.
