Current Programs and Resources for Families
"Family Days are fun for the whole family—they’re educational and yet entertaining!"
"It's a relaxing, interesting way to spend time together as a family while exposing our children to art and creativity."
Offered on selected Sundays, Family Days provide an opportunity for parents and children to explore works of art in the museum together, create their own art project, and attend related demonstrations and performances. Thematic self-guiding materials allow parents and children to experience the museum through viewing and sketching activities, stories, puzzles, and games. Family Days are designed for children ages 6-12. The museum requests that one adult accompany every two children.
Interactive tours for children ages eight and older are offered on selected Saturdays at 10:00. Dates and topics are noted on the Calendar of Events page and listed in Valley News transaction ads two weeks in advance. Limited to twenty children on a pre-registration basis. For information, contact the museum's Education Department at (603) 646-1469 or at hood.museum.tours@dartmouth.edu.
