North American landscapes at Dartmouth are strong in mid- to late-nineteenth-century views of New England (particularly the White Mountains), as well as a range of later works by such figures as George Inness, William Merritt Chase, Maria Oakey Dewing, Willard Metcalf, Abbott Thayer, and Maxfield Parrish.
