Caribbean

The Hood's collection of Caribbean art is very small, numbering only about thirty objects. Most come from Haiti and include works created within the modernized context of the Haitian religion Vodou, such as govis and a painted calabash by the artist André Pierre, and a paket kongo by an unknown artist, a gift of Micaela and Jack Mendelsohn, Class of 1956. The collection also includes a painting by Philome Obin, and a small selection works by Roland Dorcely, including Two Sisters, a gift of the artist.
