North Africa

The Hood’s small collection of historical objects from North Africa consists primarily of nineteenth-century pottery collected by Emily Howe Hitchcock (1852-1912) of Hanover, New Hampshire, in Egypt between 1866 and 1867. This collection, which numbers about twenty objects, includes decoratively incised blackware and a few examples of Tunisian textiles.
