This past fall the museum inaugurated a series of major permanent collection exhibitions with American Art at Dartmouth: Highlights from the Hood Museum of Art. It was exciting to have so much of our outstanding American collection on view—six galleries full of paintings, sculpture, decorative arts, and works on paper.

Friendship Fund Award

Hood Quarterly, spring 2008

Many years ago the Friendship Fund was established to enable the museum to recognize a teacher for her or his exemplary use of the Hood as an educational and cultural resource within the school curriculum. This spring we honor Deb Nelson of Lebanon High School in Lebanon, N.H., for her longstanding and innovative use of the museum’s collections and exhibitions in her courses.
