In 2006, museums around the world celebrated the four hundredth anniversary of the birth of Rembrandt. The public enjoyed hands-on printmaking projects, tours of the Hood's Rembrandt print exhibition, music of the artist's time, raffles, cake, and more.

Join members of the Barbary Coast Jazz Ensemble, directed by Don Galsgo, and the Hood Museum of Art for an evening of light refreshments, music from the American Civil Rights Era, and a gallery talk by Juliette Bianco, Assistant Director. Offered in conjunction with Dartmouth’s Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration.
Opening Reception for Pilobolus Comes Home: Three Decades of Dance Photographs
This exhibition opening celebrated the visual legacy of Pilobolus and the photographers who captured the dance company on film and in digital media over the thirty-five years of its existence. Pilobolus Artistic Directors Robby Barnett '72, Michael Tracy '73, and Jonathan Wolken '71, as well as the photographers were recognized at the reception.

Wenda Gu unveiled Dartmouth's hair monuments with remarks by James Wright, President; Barry Scherr, Provost; Jeffrey Horrell, Dean of Libraries and Librarian of the College; Brian Kennedy, Director; and Juliette Bianco, Assistant Director. A reception followed at the Hood, where the companion exhibition forest of stone steles: retranslation and rewriting tang dynasty poetry was on view.
