Among many other activities, some discussed via the links above, the museum continued work with two outside scholars on parts of the collection that have been little studied: Christine Lilyquist, an Egyptian scholar and curator from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Afshan Bokhari, a visiting lecturer and scholar of Indian art, who has been teaching courses through the Art History Department this year and will teach again in 2008. Professor Bokhari offered a colloquium on the museum’s Indian holdings to a group of faculty at Dartmouth in the late spring.
In February the museum, in conjunction with a number of departments on campus including anthropology, art history, and classics, presented a lecture by Bonnie Burnham, president of the World Monuments Fund. In addition, Ms. Burnham spoke to faculty and students at a Mellon Museum Seminar.
