Barbara J. MacAdam, Jonathan L. Cohen Curator of American Art, teaches a class in the Bernstein Study-Storage Center.
A. Nicole Stuckenberger, Postdoctoral Fellow in Arctic Studies, teaches a class in the exhibition Thin Ice, which she guest-curated for the Hood.
Among many other activities, some discussed via the links above, the museum continued work with two outside scholars on parts of the collection that have been little studied: Christine Lilyquist, an Egyptian scholar and curator from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Afshan Bokhari, a visiting lecturer and scholar of Indian art, who has been teaching courses through the Art History Department this year and will teach again in 2008. Professor Bokhari offered a colloquium on the museum’s Indian holdings to a group of faculty at Dartmouth in the late spring.
In February the museum, in conjunction with a number of departments on campus including anthropology, art history, and classics, presented a lecture by Bonnie Burnham, president of the World Monuments Fund. In addition, Ms. Burnham spoke to faculty and students at a Mellon Museum Seminar.
